Allow me a sappy moment to say I freaking love this song and Brooke (you know, because we’re on a first name basis). Sometimes during the really emotional days before we guys start our periods (oh we have them, just less involved), I play this song and think of how sweet it’d be to have an evening fall wedding in a chapel full of chandeliers and large windows with the last bits of lover’s light cascading through. To stand at the end of long aisle, surrounded by the most honorable men I know and observe as my talented friends play a stripped down strings version of this song. And right at the end of the first verse where she‘d sing, “when it’s time to walk that way we wanna walk it well,” massive wooden doors would swing open revealing my kick ass bride of a woman in all her graceful glory (rocking a lace inspired version of this) and she’d glide towards me as the drums kick in and lead her down the aisle.
I won’t even pretend I’d be able to hold it together, but it’s all good because her quirkiness will think raindrop tears and snot bubbles are adorable. OK that’s enough of that for now, enjoy the song.
PS I’d be wearing this with a better tie.
